24 Jun Van der Lely Foundation invests € 450,000 in Codam students
24-06-2025 | Codam, a programming school that addresses the shortage of software developers through free ICT education, has entered into a partnership with the Van der Lely Foundation. This foundation is investing €450,000 through 2027 in study grants and job market preparations for students.
Codam trains students to become skilled software developers, regardless of their background or financial means. Through free, peer-to-peer and project-based education, students can develop their talents to contribute to the knowledge economy.
“The business world has a high need for technically well-trained, hands-on software engineers. Codam and the international network of 42 schools have an innovative and unique approach to give both young and older people the opportunity to develop themselves. We are proud to contribute to that,” says Alexander van der Lely, chairman of the Van der Lely Foundation.
Maarten Naaijkens, CEO of Codam, explains: “We offer free education to give talent from all layers of society opportunities in tech. But students still need to be able to make a living – the study grants from the Van der Lely Foundation make this possible for dozens of students. Moreover, this partnership enables us to take our career guidance to an even higher level.”
The partnership between the Van der Lely Foundation and Codam has been agreed for a period of three years. In addition, technology company Lely, which invests 5% of its annual profit in the Van der Lely Foundation, will explore joint traineeships with Codam. The family business is committed to developing robots and data systems for a sustainable, profitable and pleasant future for the agricultural sector and therefore has a great need for well-trained and motivated ICT professionals.
